Bears Waive DE Marquis Jackson From I.R. With A Settlement

The Chicago Bears officially placed DE Marquis Jackson on waivers Tuesday with an injury settlement.

Jackson, 26, originally signed on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Portland State back in 2013. He lasted just a few months with the Vikings before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season.

The Bears signed Jackson to a contract back in June before waiving him with the injury designation on Thursday to make room for OL Garry Williams. He later reverted to their injured reserve list after clearing waivers.

Jackson is known for being the brother of Jaguars DL Malik Jackson.

Jackson has spent the past two seasons in the Arena football league playing for the Portland Thunder. During this time, Jackson has recorded 23.5 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, 7.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.
