Bengals Claim QB Matt Scott Off Waivers From Jaguars

The Cincinnati Bengals announced that they have claimed QB Matt Scott off of waivers from the Jaguars on Friday.

The Bengals recently recently veteran QB Josh Johnson and drafted Alabama QB A.J. McCarron in the fifth-round of last week’s draft, but it appears as though they may see Scott as a decent practice squad addition. Cincinnati also added veteran QB Jason Campbell in free agency.

Scott signed a reserve/future contract with the Jaguars back in December, but their plans obviously changed now that they have draft Blake Bortles and signed Miami QB Stephen Morris as an undrafted free agent.

Last year, there was some buzz about Scott coming out of Arizona as some draft analysts believed he could be a good developmental quarterback in time.
