My feelings about the 2020 season! I look forward to the grind and the journey, for the reward at the end will be worth it!!! Love you #WhoDatNation. Let’s make another run at it!

Brees becomes the first of the major quarterback dominoes to fall in 2020, though New Orleans still technically needs to sign him to an extension.

Saints GM Mickey Loomis said recently the Saints will be happy to have Brees as long as he wants to play. Brees has said before the two options before him are to play for the Saints or retire, so even though he’s technically a free agent it’s unlikely he plays for another team.

That leaves New Orleans with decisions to make on unrestricted free-agent QB Teddy Bridgewater and restricted free agent QB Taysom Hill. Bridgewater is expected to have a strong market for his services, while the Saints are reportedly high on Hill as the future of the franchise.

Brees, 41, is a former second-round pick of the Chargers back in 2001. After five years with the Chargers, Brees signed on with the Saints as a free agent in 2006.

Brees has spent the past 12 seasons in New Orleans and played out the final year of his two-year, $50 million contract. He is set to be a free agent in the coming months.

In 2019, Brees appeared in 11 games for the Saints and completed 74.3 percent of his passes for 2,979 yards, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions.

We have him featured in our Top 100 – 2020 Free Agents list.
