Jaguars Trade DE Dante Fowler To Rams For Draft Picks

Adam Schefter reports that the Jaguars are trading DE/OLB Dante Fowler Jr to the Rams on Tuesday.

  • According to Schefter, the Rams trade a 2019 third-round pick and a 2020 fifth-round pick to the Jaguars for Fowler.
  • Ian Rapoport reports that the Jets and Packers were among the teams interested in Fowler, but they had some off-the-field questions.

Earlier in the day, Tom Pelissero of NFL Media reported that the Jaguars’ phones have been ringing and there is serious interest in Fowler, so this doesn’t come as a big surprise.

The Rams had been linked to Fowler in recent days and it looks like they were able to hammer out a deal before the deadline.

Fowler, 24, is a former first-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2015. He is entering the final year of his four-year, $23.5 million fully guaranteed contract and is set to earn a base salary of $3,638,214 for the 2018 season.

The Jaguars declined Fowler’s fifth-year option during the offseason.

In 2018, Fowler has appeared in seven games for the Jaguars and recorded eight tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble and a recovery.
