Broncos Sign Nine To Futures Deals Including QB Garrett Grayson & WR Chad Hansen

The Denver Broncos officially signed nine players to futures contracts on Monday including QB Garrett Grayson and WR Chad Hansen.

  1. WR Fred Brown
  2. QB Garrett Grayson
  3. WR Chad Hansen
  4. LB A.J. Johnson
  5. OT Andreas Knappe
  6. DT Caushaud Lyons
  7. RB Khalfani Muhammad
  8. G Austin Schlottmann
  9. DB Linden Stephens

Grayson, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Saints back in 2015. He managed to make the 53-man roster during his rookie season but wound up being among the team’s final roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

The Saints signed him to their practice squad soon after and brought him back on a futures deal last year. However, they decided to cut him loose as they trimmed their roster down to 53 players at the start of the 2017 season.

Grayson was on and off of the Falcons’ practice squad last year before returning to the team on a futures contract this past January. Atlanta waived him coming out of the preseason and later signed on to the Broncos’ taxi squad.

In 2015, Grayson was active for one game for the Saints.

Hansen, 23, was selected with the No. 141 overall pick by the Jets in last year’s NFL draft. He was entering the second year of his four-year rookie contract worth $2,819,648 when the Jets elected to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit.

The Patriots claimed him off of waivers shortly after but elected to waive him in October. Hansen had a brief stint on the Titans’ practice squad before the Broncos added him to their taxi squad.

In 2017, Hansen appeared in 15 games for the Jets and recorded nine receptions for 94 yards (10.4 YPC) and no touchdowns.
