Cowboys

  • As Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has said, HC Jason Garrett still has the support of the front office and a firm grasp on his job, according to Ian Rapoport.
  • Rapoport wonders if offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli could both be on the hot seat.
  • If Linehan is out in Dallas, Rapoport says that current Steelers OC Todd Haley could be someone to watch for the position.
  • As for Marinelli, Rapoport mentions Matt Eberflus as a potential in-house candidate to take over the Cowboys’ defense.

Eagles

  • Adam Caplan says that Eagles WRs coach Mike Groh could be targeted for offensive coordinator jobs in the coming weeks, as he’s considered to be one of the rising stars of offensive coaches around NFL.
  • According to Caplan, Eagles QBs coach John Defilippo should be targeted by several teams including the Bears, Cardinals and Colts.

Packers

  • According to Ian Rapoport, the Packers will focus on signing HC Mike McCarthy to an extension, given that he’s entering the final year of his contract.
  • In regards to DC Dom Capers, Rapoport says there are real questions about whether the team will ask him to retire.
  • Rapoport is the latest to suggest Bears DC Vic Fangio as someone to keep an eye on to take over as the Packers’ defensive coordinator.
  • Another situation to watch for the Packers is Aaron Rodgers‘ next contract, which Rapoport says will be Green Bay’s top priority this offseason.

Seahawks

  • Ian Rapoport writes that there are “remote” questions about whether Pete Carroll will return as the Seahawks head coach in 2018.
  • According to Rapoport, Carroll has privately mused about retirement and a source close him said Carroll’s focus is only on the upcoming game and not the future.
  • As for the Seahawks, they believe Carroll will return for the rebuild, but Rapoport says that this situation is still worth watching.
