Dolphins Placing S Reshad Jones & S Bobby McCain On Injured Reserve

According to Joe Schad, the Dolphins plan to place S Reshad Jones on injured reserve Wednesday.

Miami also will place S Bobby McCain on IR today, per Barry Jackson.

Jones has battled a variety of injuries this year and was the subject of numerous trade rumors before the deadline. It’s possible this ends his time in Miami.

Jones, 31, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2010. He was in the final year of his five-year, $30.81 million contract when the Dolphins signed him to a five-year, $60 million extension that includes $35 million guaranteed in 2017.

Jones stands to make a base salary of $13.01 million for the 2019 season.

In 2019, Jones appeared in four games for the Dolphins and recorded 27 tackles and one pass defense.

McCain, 26, is a former fifth-round pick by the Dolphins in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of a four-year, $2.508 million rookie contract when the Dolphins signed him to a four-year extension worth $27 million, including $13 million guaranteed.

In 2019, McCain has appeared in nine games for the Dolphins and recorded 25 tackles, twp interceptions and three pass defenses.
