Dolphins Re-Sign QB Logan Thomas & RB Jonas Gray To Practice Squad

The Miami Dolphins announced Wednesday that they’ve re-signed QB Logan Thomas, RB Jonas Gray and C Sam Brenner to their practice squad, per James Walker.

Thomas, 24, still has another three years remaining on his four-year, $2,652,092 rookie contract, which includes base salaries of $510,000 (2015), $600,000 (2016), and $690,000 (2017).

Miami wound up claiming him off of waivers after he was deemed expendable by the Cardinals after they traded for Matt Barkley. However, he was waive just a few days ago as they some changes to their roster.

Last year, Thomas appeared in two games for the Cardinals, even though they lost Carson Palmer and Stanton for the season. He threw for 81 yards and a touchdown, but completed just a single pass attempt.

Gray, 25, was waived by the Patriots this last weekend, as they cut their roster down to 53 players. The Dolphins wound up signing him to a contract just a few days ago, even though he visited with the Titans.

Miami wound up promoting him last week. Although, he was waived to make room for RB Raheem Mostert, who was signed off the Eagles’ practice squad.

In 2014, Gray appeared in eight games for the Patriots and ran for 412 yards on 89 carries (4.6 YPC) to go along with five rushing touchdowns and one reception for seven yards.
