Dolphins Signing RB Daniel Thomas

Rand Getlin of NFL Media reports that the Dolphins are signing RB Daniel Thomas to a contract.

Miami has clearly been in the market for running back help, but this is an interesting move, considering how poorly things went for Thomas with the Dolphins the first time around.

Earlier in the day, the Dolphins signed Isaiah Pead to a contract. However, it still wouldn’t be surprising to see them bring in another running back at some point.

Thomas, 28, is a former second-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2011. He was never able to live up to expectations in Miami and after playing our his rookie contract, Thomas returned to the Dolphins on a one-year deal last year.

The Bears signed him to a one-year deal this past June, but he was unfortunately among their final roster cuts and never caught on with another team last year.

In 2014, Thomas appeared in 12 games and ran for 168 yards on 44 carries (3.8 YPC) to go along with 13 receptions for 121 yards receiving and two total touchdowns.
