This move will keep Ryans under team control through the 2016 season.
Ryan, 30, had one year remaining on his six-year, $48 million contract that included $21.75 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $6.8 million for the 2015 season to go along with a cap figure of $6.9 million.
In 2014, Ryan appeared in eight games and recorded 45 tackles, one interception, a fumble recovery, and four pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has Ryans rated as the No. 25 inside linebacker out of 60 qualifying players.
