Falcons Expected To Part With G Garrett Reynolds, Potential FA Options

Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com writs that the Atlanta Falcons “appear destined to part ways” with G Garrett Reynolds.

The Falcons clearly need to improve upfront, specifically on the interior as Reynolds and Peter Konz have both under performed.

Reynolds, 26, lost his starting job twice this past season and will count $1.57 million against the team’s 2014 salary cap. Parting ways with Reynolds would free up about $1.32 million in cap space, which is obviously something the Falcons can use to fill some roster holes.

According to McClure, some speculative free agent targets for the Falcons could include: Jon Asamoah (KC), Willie Colon (NYJ) and Zane Beadles (DEN).

McClure mentions that newly hired assistant general manager Scott Pioli is more than familiar Asamoah seeing as he drafted him while in Kansas City.
