Falcons Signing DE Derrick Shelby To A Four-Year, $21M Deal

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Falcons are signing DE Derrick Shelby to a contract.

  • Field Yates reports that Shelby receives a four-year deal with a base value of $18 million. Shelby also receives $7.5 million guaranteed.

Shelby, 27, wound up signing on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Utah back in 2012 before testing the market this year, so this is a well deserved raise for him.

In 2015, Shelby appeared in all 16 games for the Dolphins and recorded 38 tackes, 3.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, two forced fumbles and four pass defenses.
