Falcons Unlikely To Remain At No. 6 Overall?

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Falcons are “exploring” the possibility of moving up.

  • Rapoport mentions that it appears unlikely that the Falcons will remainĀ at No. 6 overall.
  • The Falcons trading back also remains an option, according to Rapoport.

Recent reports have mentioned that the Falcons could look to make the move up to No. 1 overall for the right to select South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney. However, Rapoport reports thatĀ talks have not started between Falcons andĀ Texans.

Atlanta could consider moving up anywhere in top-four andĀ not just to No. 1 overall, according to Rapoport.

There has been so much talk regarding the Falcons possibly trading up in the past few weeks that it’s becoming hard to complete dismiss the idea based on the fact that they really aren’t just a single player away from being a championship team.

The Falcons really need a lot of offensive line help and could be in a decent spot to land on of the top offensive tackle prospects. Trading back would also make sense, in my opinion, as they could load up on some middle-round selections that will allow them to add some much needed depth.

We have the FalconsĀ remaining at No. 6 overall and taking Michigan LT Taylor LewanĀ inĀ ourĀ most recentĀ 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
