The New York Giants announced Friday that theyโve completed their interview with Mike McCarthy for their head-coaching vacancy.
The full list of interviews lined up for the Giants include:
- Patriots OC Josh McDaniels (NFLTR)
- Chiefs OC Eric Bienemy (NFLTR)
- Cowboys passing game coordinator/DBs coach Kris Richard (NFLTR)
- Mike McCarthy (NFLTR)
- Ravens DC Don โWinkโ Martindale (NFLTR)
- Patriots special teams coordinator Joe Judge (NFLTR)
Some recent reports have said that McCarthy is viewed as a strong contender for the Giantsโ job, given that he could help to develop QB Daniel Jones and shouldnโt have an issue with their current front office structure.
McCarthy has already interviewed twice with the Panthers and is expected to interview with the Browns as well.
McCarthy, 55, began his NFL coaching career with the Chiefs back in 1993 as an offensive quality control coordinator. He bounced around with the Packers, Saints and 49ers before the Packers hired him as their head coach in 2006.
The Packers made the decision to move on from McCarthy following their disappointing loss to the Cardinals in Week 13 of last year.
During his 13-year tenure in Green Bay, McCarthy has led the Packers to a record of 125-77-2 (61.8 percent), which includes nine playoff appearances and a Super Bowl title in 2010.
