Giants Sign OT Laurence Gibson & Michael Ola To Practice Squad, Cut C Shane McDermott

The New York Giants officially signed OT Laurence Gibson and OT Michael Ola to their practice squad and released C Shane McDermott.

The Giants’ practice squad now consists of:

1. LB Deontae Skinner
2. WR Geremy Davis 
3. WR Darius Powe
4. OL Adam Gettis
5. DE Stansly Maponga
6. DE Ishaq Williams
7. CB Donte Deayon 
8. S Andrew Adams
9. OT Laurence Gibson
10. OT Michael Ola

Gibson, 25, is a former seventh-round pick of the Cowboys back in May of last year. He lasted just a few months in Dallas before he was among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

The Chiefs later signed him to their practice squad at the start of the year and brought him back on a future/reserve deal in January. However, he was unfortunately placed on waivers shortly after this year’s draft.

Gibson later signed on with the Falcons before he was unfortunately cut loose coming out of the preseason. The Bears later signed him to their practice squad only to cut him loose soon after.

Gibson has yet to appear in an NFL game.
