NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Giants

Cowboys

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said recently that “it’s certainly not impossible” for suspended DE Randy Gregory to return for the 2019 season, despite his ongoing substance abuse issues.

“For all the obvious reasons I don’t know,” Jones said, via Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram. “It’s certainly not impossible. But his status is his status. It is what it is. We are going to do everything we can to try to have him overcome this hurdle to get in position to have him help us and he wants to do that.

Eagles

Giants

  • A source with knowledge of the situation tells Ryan Dunleavy of NJ.com that the Giants were offered a fourth-round pick from an unspecified team for S Landon Collins before the trade deadline last year.
  • However, Dunleavy says the Giants turned down the offer in order to continue evaluating the type of financial commitment it would take to re-sign him.
  • Field Yates reports that the Giants signed QB Alex Tanney to a two-year, $2.05M contract that’s worth up to $3.2M and includes $250K guaranteed. New York has a team option for 2020.
