NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins

Cowboys

Cowboys CB Byron Jones, who has one year remaining on his contract, said he wants to remain in Dallas long term.

You’re not going to find a better, more well-ran organization than the Cowboys,” Jones said, via Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News. “The fans are great; the weather’s great; the food’s great for me. I live right in the city, too, so I want nothing other than playing for the Dallas Cowboys.”

Eagles

Jimmy Kempski of Philly Voice takes a look at the cornerback position for the Eagles and who could be let go this offseason.

  • Kempski expects the Eagles to move on from CB Ronald Darby, who could be one of the top cornerbacks in free agency this year, despite coming off of an ACL tear. Kempski notes that this would actually be a good thing for Philadelphia, as they could recoup a better 2020 compensatory pick.
  • We have Darby featured in our Top 50 – 2019 NFL Free Agents list.
  • Other than Darby, the only cornerback whose futures with the Eagles appears to be in question is Josh Hawkins, according to Kempski.

Redskins

  • The Washington Redskins announced that they’ve hired Brian Angelichio as their new TEs coach.
  • Mike Jones reports that the Redskins offered TEs coach Wes Phillips a contract extension, but he declined and wanted to explore other opportunities.
