NFC East Notes: Cowboys, Giants, Redskins

Cowboys

Cowboys executive Stephen Jones said during an interview with 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday that they’ve still yet to meet with WR Dez Bryant regarding his contract.

When we do we’ll let you know and the guy who will do that will be Jerry [Jones],” Jones said, per Todd Archer.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said last week that he hopes to meet with Bryant at some point this week.

Giants

New Giants OC Mike Shula told reporters on Wednesday that Odell Beckham Jr is going to be a “vital part” of their offense this year.

As we still work through this with Coach (Pat) Shurmur, (Beckham) is obviously a vital part of our offense,” Shula said, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY.tv. “When you have guys that can make plays and put points on the board you want to feature them as much as you can.

“God, he’s such an explosive player,” Shula added. “We’ve watched what everyone else has seen what he can do on the field. I’m really looking forward to being able to work with a guy like that. Again, what you see on the field, and talking to the guys that have had to defend him in Carolina, just how explosive he is, and getting the ball in the end zone. We’re going to try to improve on that.

  • Albert Breer reports that the Giants are slated to host N.C. State DE Bradley Chubb on a Top 30 visit Thursday.
