NFC East Notes: Eagles, Giants, Redskins

Eagles

  • Jay Glazer of the Athletic writes that he would be surprised if the Eagles could afford QB Nick Foles a contract after this season based on their cap situation and the money he could command as a free agent.
  • Glazer expects Foles to have a “really strong market and be offered a lot more money than he’s making right now.”
  • In fact, Glazer thinks Foles should be able to command similar money as Case Keenum got from the Broncos and what the Bears paid Mike Glennon last year.

Giants

  • Giants WR Odell Beckham (quad) said he expects to play if possible this week: “If I can play, I’m gonna play. That’s just the bottom line.

Redskins

  • Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com doesn’t see the Redskins firing HC Jay Gruden after the season.
  • As for president Bruce Allen, Breer mentions that it comes down to whether he’s viewed more as the president of the team or the GM, given that presidents aren’t generally fired based on win-loss records.
  • Redskins QB Colt McCoy has been running and said Wednesday that he remains hopeful of returning for Week 17’s game against the Eagles. (Washington Post)
  • Redskins promoted WR Darvin Kidsy to their active roster. (NFLTR)
  • The Redskins officially ruled out QB Colt McCoy (fibula) and TE Jordan Reed (ankle, foot) on Thursday and list LB Ryan Anderson (hamstring), G Tony Bergstrom (knee, ankle), TE Vernon Davis (concussion), WR Josh Doctson (back), WR Maurice Harris (concussion), T Austin Howard (hip), DE Matt Ioannidis (shin), T Ty Nsekhe (knee), and DT Tim Settle (pectoral) as questionable for Week 16.
