NFL Draft Rumors: Seahawks, Browns, Cardinals Ryan Tannehill, Brandon Weeden, Dontari Poe

Seahawks

SI.com’s Peter King believes that the Seahawks will take Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill at #12 despite the fact that they just recently signed Matt Flynn.

You can write this down,” says King. “If Tannehill were to be there at 12, Seattle would take him.”

Pete Carroll has shown plenty of interest in Tannehill thus far, and they didn’t exactly give b a large enough contract to persuade them from looking at all of the available options.

“At Tannehill’s workout,” a source told King, “(Seahawks coach) Pete Carroll was giggling like a schoolgirl watching him throw. His attitude was like, ‘What are we even doing here? He’ll never be there for us.”

There’s no doubt that it would be a surprise to see them grab a QB in the first-round, but I guess it’s always a possibility.

Cardinals

Mike Jurecki of XTRA Phoenix believes that the Cardinals would take Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd over Stanford OG David DeCastro, should both players be available to them at #13 overall.

Jurecki mentions that Iowa OT Riley Reiff would be their first choice, but he could end up going to Buffalo at #10 overall.

Arizona will bring Floyd in for a pre-draft visit today, so there’s definitely a chance that he ends up across from Larry Fitzgerald.

Browns

Peter King also writes that Browns GM Tom Heckert “loves” Oklahoma State WR Justin Blackmon, and believes that he would select him with the #4 overall pick.

King adds that Mike Holmgren is “still trying to decide with finality” on Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill being an option for them. Alabama RB Trent Richardson is also in consideration for the pick, but there’s still no clear indication as to who will be the favorite to land in Cleveland.

We have them going with Blackmon at #4 in our most recent 2012 NFL Mock Draft, which would allow them to take Doug Martin at #22.

Ryan Tannehill

SI’s Peter King reports the Eagles‘ interest in Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill has been “overstated,” but still believes that they could move up slightly for him.

King does mentioned that  it “won’t be much, and the move won’t be far.”

The Browns and Dolphins are Kings’ favorites to land Tannehill, but he does mention that the Chiefs will most likely shop the #11 should Tannehill be available to them.

This is interesting because the Chiefs have been mentioned as a possible landing spot for Tannehill, and some have speculated that they could even trade up for him.

We have him going to Miami at #8 overall in our 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

Brandon Weeden

ESPN’s Adam Schefter (ESPN Insider) expects to see Oklahoma State QB Brandon Weeden off of the board in the  early portion of the second round.

Schefter specifically mentions the Chiefs, Browns, Bills and Seahawks as teams that could show interest in Weeden at that point in the draft.

Weeden is in a play-now scenario considering that he’s 28 years old, so the Seahawks and Bills may not be the best options for him considering that they’ve signed their respective quarterbacks to multi-year deals.

We have him going to be Browns at #37 overall in the second-round of our 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

Dontari Poe

Peter King writes that the the “widest disparity of opinion” around the league is regarding Memphis NT Dontari Poe.

King notes that there’s been some comparisons to Ravens DT Haloti Ngata, but others have expressed concern about the fact that he has a tendency to “disappears in games.”

King sees the Panthers and Chiefs passing on him, but believes that he’ll be taken shortly after that.

The Cowboys and Eagles have both been rumored to have interest in him. We have him going to the Eagles at #11 overall in our 2012 NFL Mock Draft.

Peter Konz

SI.com’s Peter King “doesn’t see” the Ravens taking Wisconsin G/C Peter Konz in the first-round.

Konz seems like he would draw strong consideration from the Ravens at that point, considering that they’ve recently lost Ben Grubbs and Matt Birk almost retired this year.

We have the Ravens taking Stanford OT Jonathan Martin at #29 and Konz going to the 49ers at #30 overall.
