NFL Notes: Adrian Peterson, Josh Gordon, Cardinals, Dolphins

Adrian Peterson

Albert Breer of the NFL Network writes that the magic words regarding Adrian Peterson‘s Monday hearing are still “time served.

Breer points out that after Sunday’s game, Peterson will have missed an additional three games on top of the original six games he was expected to sit out after being placed on the Exempt/Commissioner’s Permission List.

According to Breer, because Peterson has been paid during his absence, “there will be some sentiment to position the missed games as time served.” Breer adds that fine and reinstatement also remain possibilities as well.

Josh Gordon

  • The NFL confirmed that Browns WR Josh Gordon will return to practice without any restrictions on Monday.

“(He) will be clear to resume normal activities without restriction,” AFC director of football communications Jon Zimmer said, via Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Cardinals

  • Cardinals waived OLB Thomas Keiser. to make room for DE Josh Mauro, who was signed off of the Steelers’ practice squad.

Dolphins

  • James Walker reports that CB Will Davis suffered a torn ACL during Thursday’s night win over the Bills.
  • HC Joe Philbin confirmed Davis’ injury and added that he’ll be placed on season-ending injured reserve. (Adam Beasley)
