NFL Notes: Broncos, Browns, Jets, Panthers & Vikings

Broncos

  • Broncos VP John Elway was asked about Wade Phillips future with the team on Monday and said that this will be up to the next head coach. Although, Elway added that they would like to keep as much continuity as possible. (James Palmer)
  • In regards to their head-coaching position, Elway said there’s nobody on the coaching staff currently that he would consider for the position right now. (Cameron Wolfe)
  • Elway said of their offseason plans: “We got a lot of draft picks and we’ll be involved in free agency.” (Mike Klis)

Browns

  • Browns WR Terrelle Pryor mentioned Monday that he plans to ask his agents to try to get an extension worked out with the Browns while adding: “I love this place, I love Cleveland, I love the fans, Hue.” (Mary Kay Cabot)
  • Browns impending free agent OL Austin Pasztor said he wants to return to the Browns next year, but admitted that he doesn’t have a sense whether the team wants to re-sign him. (Nate Ulrich)

Jets

Jets veteran CB Darrelle Revis mentioned that he would be willing to move to safety next year if that’s what is best for the team.

“This offseason, there will be a lot of thinking what my future is and what I can do to best help the team win games,” Revis said, via ESPN.com. “If that means changing my position to help the team win games, that’s fine. I still love the game. I still have a passion for it and I still want to play at a high level.

Panthers

  • Panthers impending free agent DT Kawann Short said that if he’s franchised by the team, he will “most likely” sign his tender sooner than later unlike CB Josh Norman. Short added: “Me and Josh are two different people.” (B&B Review)

Vikings

  • Vikings RB Adrian Peterson told reporters that he believes he may have another seven years left in the NFL. (Chris Tomasson)
  • Peterson did, however, say that he wants to return to Vikings in 2017. (Chris Tomasson)
  • Peterson declined to say whether he would take a pay cut to be back with the Vikings. (Matt Vensel)
