NFL Notes: Chiefs, Eagles, Raiders, Texans

Jimmy Kempski of takes a look at some veteran running back options that could make sense for the Eagles to consider in the coming months.

Kempski’s list includes:


  • The Raiders are expected to sign Kentucky S Marcus McWilson to a contract following the team’s rookie minicamp. (Michael Gehlken)
  • The Raiders have informed S Ahmad Thomas that he’s being waived after minicamp and the expectation is that DL Jordan Wade will also be cut. (Michael Gehlken)


Texans QB Tom Savage told reporters on Monday that he’s “super ready” to compete for the starting job this summer along with first-round pick Deshaun Watson.

“I’m super ready,” Savage said, per Aaron Wilson. “It’s going to be a battle. I can’t tell you how excited I am.”
