NFL Notes: Josh McDaniels, 49ers, Chargers, Cowboys, & Saints

Josh McDaniels

Several NFL executives have told Jason Cole that they view Patriots OC Josh McDaniels as one of the best play-designers and play-callers in the league.

According to Cole, if the Patriots end up winning the Super Bowl, McDaniels could be the No. 1 coaching candidate in 2015.

49ers

Jason Cole of the Bleacher Report has spoken to some 49ers’ players regarding the hiring of Geep Chryst as the team’s offensive coordinator.

According to Cole, the players are “dismayed” by the move and view this as a clear indication that 49ers’ management is just looking to get cheaper in terms of their coaching staff.

Chargers

  • Chargers hired former-Falcons DC Mike Nolan as their LBs coach.

Cowboys

DeMarco Murray said he hasn’t thought about his contract situation as of now, but added that

Honestly, I haven’t gotten that far,” Murray said, via DallasCowboys.com. “It’s only been a week and a half, two weeks removed from the season, so I’m still kind of fresh for me from the way it ended. I haven’t gotten that far yet.

“…You never know what’s going to happen, we’ll see what happens. But all you can do is hope for the best.”
