NFL Notes: Tim Tebow, Jets, Texans, & Titans

Tim Tebow

  • According to Dianna Marie Russini, Eagles HC Chip Kelly is “increasingly excited” about QB Tim Tebow.
  • As long as Tebow doesn’t make major errors moving forward, he’s likely earn a roster spot, according to Russini.
  • Russini mentions that Kelly has been specifically impressed by Tebow’s running, and while his throwing hasn’t been perfect, he still carries value with the extra point being moved back and in short-yardage situations.

Jets

Jets OL Oday Aboushi has been suspended one game for violating NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Here’s a statement from Aboushi:

I apologize for my actions and understand the repercussions. This is something I’ve learned from and I’m focused on moving forward.”

Here’s a statement from his representatives:

“Oday was pulled over for a traffic stop in Morris Plains, NJ on January 10, 2015. During the stop, police recovered a very small amount of marijuana from his vehicle. Oday accepted responsibility for the traffic infraction and all other charges were dismissed.

Texans

  • The Texans activated OLB Jadeveon Clowney (knee) from the active/PUP list on Thursday.

Titans

  • John Glennon mentions that Byron Bell saw most of the first-team snaps at left guard on Thursday, which left G Andy Levitre working with the second-team unit.
  • Third-round pick Jeremiah Poutasi received a large percentage of first-team snaps at right tackle on Thursday.
