NFL Rumors: Jets Plan To Franchise David Harris?

Over the weekend ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the New York Jets consider David Harris to be a bigger offseason priority than Santonio Holmes and Braylon Edwards which increases the chances that they will use their franchise tag on Harris.

Two things worth noting. First, Harris would have to agree to being franchised or he could file a complaint through the players union and second, there’s still a chance that the two sides could wait and reach an agreement once their is a new CBA in place. Considering that there is no timetable for the NFL and NFLPA to reach an agreement, Harris may actually be willing to get tagged and work out an agreement next year.
