NFL Rumors: Vikings, Dolphins, Lions, Vince Young

  • Judd Zulgad of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that there are some “strong indications” that the Vikings new head coach Leslie Frazier will promote Fred Pagac as the teams defensive coordinator. Zulgad also mentions that quarterback coach Kevin Rogers, offensive line coach Pat Morris, and assistant offensive line coach Jim Hueber will all be let go. As of now, there is no indication of whether or not Darrell Bevell will back as the teams offensive coordinator. Interestingly enough, Mike Singletary‘s name has been mentioned as possibility for the team.
  • ESPN’s Chris Mortensen is reporting that Dolphins owner Stephen Ross got on a plan heading west in an attempt to make an “urgent pitch” to land Jim Harbaugh. Pro Football Talk writes that the Dolphins reportedly offered John Gruden a deal for $7 million per year but was turned down. With that kind of cash being thrown around, Harbaugh is in a position to land one of the leagues top salaries.
  • G.M. Martin Mayhew told reports that Julian Peterson will not be back with the Lions next season. The move isn’t that surprisingly considering he was due to make $8 million next season. Peterson wasn’t very productive at all during his tenure in Detroit.
  • Adam Schefter tweets that Vince Young thanked Nashville and Bud Adams. He then took a page out of the Lebron James playbook and said that “I look forward to a new beginning and bringing my talents to a new team.” Stay classy Vince Young.
