Chad Ochocinco Traded To New England

Pro Football Talk writes that a league source has informed them that Ochocinco’s 2011 salary of $6 million which is a combination of salary and bonuses.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter also confirms the deal and notes that one of the picks will be 2013 draft selection.

This seems like a pretty good deal for the Patriots considering that all they’re giving up is late round selections for a player that still has some upside.

NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora reports that Ochocinco is in fact going to New England and has signed a 3 year deal.

Local12 TV in Cincinnati reports that the New England Patriots have traded a 6th and 7th round pick to Cincinnati for WR Chad Ochocinco as was speculated earlier. Not sure how accurate this is but we’ll have more as the situations updates.

Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco offered up a suggestive hint to James Shively (@JC_Shively) via a twitter direct message this afternoon.

Shively received a “direct message” from Ochocinco that said the “media knows nothing but I’m going to enjoy clam chowder.”

Earlier rumors mentioned that the Patriots could have interest in obtaining Ochocinco mainly because Bill Belichick has praised his ability in the past. This is a very speculative rumor and we usually focus on more substantial ideas than this but it was interesting enough to pass along.
