Packers Waive LB C.J. Johnson From IR With Settlement

The Green Bay Packers officially waived LB C.J. Johnson from their injured reserve with an injury settlement on Wednesday.

Johnson, 24, wound up signing on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in May of 2016. He was waived after a couple months and did not get signed again until Green Bay picked him up this offseason.

He was waived with an injury designation and was placed on the injured reserve once passing through waivers unclaimed.

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.

During his five years at Ole Miss, Johnson recorded 180 tackles, 27 tackles for a loss, 13.5 sacks, three interceptions, two forced fumbles, three recoveries and one defensive touchdown.
