Packers Worked Out TE Devon Cajuste

Rob Demovsky of ESPN reports that the Packers brought in free agent TE Devon Cajuste for a workout on Friday.

This comes after the Packers waived TE Martellus Bennett on Wednesday, so they could clearly use another tight end moving forward.

Although, Demovsky says that this is likely a medical recheck, given that Cajuste previously played for Green Bay before suffering an injury.

Cajuste, 24, wound up signing on with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford back in May of last year. He was in the first year of his three-year, $1.62 million contract when the 49ers elected to cut him loose coming out of the preseason.

The Packers would later sign Cajuste to their practice squad at the start of the season before eventually placing him on injured reserve in December.

During his college career at Stanford, Cajuste caught 90 passes for, 1,589 yards receiving and 14 touchdowns over the course of 40 games.
