Panthers Claim DT Robert Thomas Off Waivers From Dolphins

Pro Football Talk reports that the Panthers were awarded DT Robert Thomas off of waivers from the Dolphins on Friday.

Thomas, 25, originally signed on with the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas back in 2014. He was on and off of the practice squad during his rookie season before signing on to the Seahawks’ practice squad at the start of the 2015 season.

Thomas lasted a few months in Seattle before he was cut and later signed by the Patriots. The Dolphins eventually signed him to a contract in December of last year, but elected to waive him on Thursday.

In 2015, Thomas appeared in one game and recorded a single tackle.
