Panthers Officially Rule Out Cam Newton For Week 3, Starting Kyle Allen

The Carolina Panthers have officially ruled out QB Cam Newton for Week 3’s game against the Cardinals. The Panthers will start Kyle Allen in place of Newton.

Panthers HC Ron Rivera said of Newton: “He felt pretty good at the end of the week. But we don’t want another setback. Want to make sure he’s ready to roll.”

In 2018, Newton appeared in 14 games for the Panthers threw for 3,395 yards while completing 67.9 percent of his passes to go along with 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He also rushed for 488 yards and four touchdowns.
