Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Patriots have placed DT Khyri Thornton on waivers Thursday.
- The Patriots also signed WR Chris Harper to their practice squad.
Thornton, 25, is a former third-round pick of the Packers back in 2014. However, he lasted just a little over a year in Green Bay before he waived a few weeks ago.
The Patriots wound up claiming him off waivers, but his time in New England was obviously short lived.
Thornton has three years remaining on his four-year, $2.22 million rookie contract that included a $563,252 signing bonus and was set to make a base salary of $523,000 for the 2015 season.
He has yet to appear in an NFL game
