Patriots Worked Out 8 Players Including RB Storm Johnson & FB Glenn Gronkowski

Adam Caplan of ESPN reports that the Patriots worked out RB Storm Johnson, FB Glenn Gronkowski and CB Jamell Fleming on Monday.

  • The Patriots also worked out TE Rory Anderson, DT Brandin Bryant, DT Trevon Coley, DB Doran Grant and TE Austin Traylor.

Johnson, 24, is a former seventh-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2014. He managed to make the 53-man roster in his rookie season but was unfortunately waived during roster cuts at the start of 2015.

Johnson signed a two-year contract with the Buccaneers this past April. However, he was unfortunately among their roster cuts coming out of the preseason.

In 2014, Johnson ran for 86 yards on 29 carries (3 YPC) to go along with two rushing touchdowns and one reception for -4 yards receiving.

Gronkowski, 23, wound up signing on with the Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State back in May. He managed to make the 53-man roster a few weeks ago, but will not have to pass through waivers before signing on with a team of his choosing.

Gronkowski signed a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Bills but was waived last week.

During his three-year college career, Gronkowski totaled 51 rushing yards on 16 carries (3.2 YPC) to go along with 15 receptions for 369 yards receiving and six total touchdowns.
