Raiders Placing NT Justin Ellis On Injured Reserve

Michael Gehlken reports that the Raiders are placing NT Justin Ellis on injured reserve with a foot strain to make room for DT Clinton McDonald, who was signed to a contract on Wednesday.

According to Gehlken, the Raiders plan to activate Ellis from injured reserve later on in the year.

Ellis, 27, is a former fourth-round pick of the Raiders back in 2014. He played out the final year of his rookie contract and was set to be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career before agreeing to a three-year extension worth over $15 million this offseason.

In 2018, Ellis has appeared in one game, but has yet to record a statistic.
