Rams HC Jeff Fisher announced that they’re promoting supplemental draft pick OTย Isaiah Battle to their active roster on Monday, perย Nick Wagoner.
This comes after the news that OT Darrell Williams andย G Jamon Brown are both out for the season with injuries.
The Rams used a fifth-roundย supplement pick on Battle during the summer. However, he was surprisingly among their final roster cuts just a few months later.
St. Louis was able to get him on theirย practice squad after he cleared waivers,ย and later gaveย hisย a $25,588 per week raise, which leaves him as the highest paid practice squad player in the NFL.
Battle became the first player taken in a Supplemental Draft since the Browns used a second-round pick on Josh Gordon back in 2012.
Battle played in 27 career games and started 11 contests last season whileย playing more snaps than any other Clemson player (824).
During time at Clemson, Battle served a suspension in 2013 forย punching a player, and another last season for disciplinary reasons. Battle was also pulled over for speeding in early June and caught with marijuana. He receivedย citations for both incidents, but wasn’tย not charged or arrested in either case.
