Ravens HC John Harbaugh Returning For 2019 Season, Two Sides Working On Extension

The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday night that John Harbaugh will return as the team’s head coach for the 2019 season and they’re working on a new extension to keep him long term.

Reports from the past month or so mentioned that the Ravens and Harbaugh were expected to part ways. However, the team is still in the mix for a playoff spot and Harbaugh was expected to be one of the top coaching candidates should he have been available.

The Packers, Dolphins and Broncos had been tossed out as speculative options worth watching for Harbaugh.

Harbaugh, 56, began his NFL coaching career with the Eagles in 1998 as their special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach. He spent 10 years in Philadelphia before he was hired as the Ravens’ head coach in 2008.

During his nine years with the team, Harbaugh has led them to a record of 102-72 (58.6 percent), which includes six playoff appearances and one Super Bowl championship in 2012.

We’ll have more regarding Harbaugh as the news is available.
