Ravens Release Veteran LB Daryl Smith, Free Up $2.625M In Cap Room

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Ravens have released veteran LB Daryl Smith on Thursday.

Smith, 33, was in the third year of his four-year, $13.6 million contract that included a $3.5 million signing bonus. He was set to make base salaries of $3 million over the final two years of the agreement.

According to OverTheCap.com, releasing Smith will free up $2.625 million in available cap space while creating $1.75 million in dead money.

In 2015, Smith appeared in all 16 games for the Ravens and recorded 121 tackles, three sacks, an interception and three pass defenses.
