Report: Beanie Wells Suffers Torn Achilles During Last Week’s Tryout With The Ravens

Update:

Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports that free agent RB RB Beanie Wells suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon during last week’s workout for the Ravens.

  • Wilson adds that the Ravens still have interest in former Bengals RB Bernard Scott, despite the fact that he worked out for the team two weeks ago.

Wells, 25, has dealt with a number of injuries during both his college and NFL careers. Since being released by the Cardinals, Wells has visited with only a few teams, so interest in his services has been limited at best.

Suffering a serious injury like this is only going to make it even harder for him to find another opportunity down the line. This honestly could be it for him.

Aaron Wilson reports that the Baltimore Ravens brought in former Cardinals RB Beanie Wells for a workout.

Baltimore currently has an open roster spot, but it would be surprising to see them sign Wells with Ray Rice and Bernard Pierce healthy. The Ravens rushing attack has been miserable this season, so this could be them keeping tabs on available free agents in case something were to happen to either Rice or Pierce.

Since being released by the Cardinals, Wells has found very little interest. He’s worked out for teams like Steelers, Jaguars and Giants, but it never appeared as though he was close to signing on with any of them.
