Saints G Andrus Peat Expected To Miss Six Weeks With Broken Arm

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that Saints G Andrus Peat suffered a broken arm during Sunday’s game and has since undergone surgery.

According to Schefter, Peat is expected to be sidelined six weeks.

New Orleans will likely turn to Will Clapp at left guard during Peat’s absence.

Peat, 26, is a former first-round pick of the Saints back in 2015. He was in the final year of his four-year, $11.393 million contract and stands to make a base salary of $1.988 million for the 2018 season when the Saints picked up his fifth-year option last year.

Peat is in line to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020.

In 2019, Peat has appeared in nine games for the Saints and is rated by Pro Football Focus as the No. 66 guard out of 79  qualifying players.
