Saints Signing CB Sterling Moore

Nick Underhill reports that the Saints are signing CB Sterling Moore to a contract on Tuesday following his tryout.

The Saints hosted 14 players for tryouts today, but it appears as though Moore was one of the players who stood out the most.

Moore, 26, originally signed on with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Methodist back in 2011. However, he lasted just a few months in Oakland before he was waived a few weeks into the season.

He spent over a year with the Patriots before catching on with the Cowboys in November of 2012. The Buccaneers later signed him to a one-year contract as an unrestricted free agent last year.

Moore signed a one-year deal with the Bills back in March, but was unfortunately among their roster cuts last week.

In 2014, Moore appeared in all 16 games for the Cowboys and recorded 46 tackles, a forced fumble, two recoveries and 13 pass defenses for the Cowboys’ defense. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 22 cornerback out of 108 qualifying players with a solid coverage rating.
