Saints Still Looking To Trade For Pass Catcher

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Saints are among teams “still pushing for a pass catcher” in trade talks leading up to next week’s deadline.

A few weeks ago, La Canfora mentioned that New Orleans was expected to look into upgrading their pass catchers with Bengals WR A.J. Green and TE Tyler Eifert being potential options.

Saints TE Jared Cook has been dealing with an ankle injury while Alvin Kamara missed Week 7’s game with knee and ankle injuries. It wouldn’t hurt to add some receiver depth behind Michael Thomas either.

The Athletic’s Katherine Terrell recently listed Eifert, Titans WR Corey Davis, Dolphins WR DeVante Parker and Dolphins RB Kenyan Drake as some speculative names to keep an eye on leading up to next week’s deadline.

Emmanuel Sanders was also mentioned as a possibility, but he’s being sent to the 49ers for draft compensation.

In order to create some extra cap space, the Saints could consider restructuring contracts for either OT Terron Armstead or LB A.J. Klein.

We’ll have more regarding the Saints and potential trades as the news is available.
