San Diego Chargers LT Jared Gaither Set To Miss Week 2

The Union-Tribune San Diego reports that San Diego Chargers left tackle Jared Gaither is expected to miss the team’s game in Week 2 against the Tennessee Titans.

Gaither, who signed a four-year deal worth $24.6 million contract earlier in the year, missed the Chargers’ opening game on Monday night against the Oakland Raiders because of a back injury, which forced rookie LT Michael Harris into the starting lineup.

It is not entirely unlikely that Gaither could miss more time than expected, considering that he has undergone two MRIs to try to determine his exact injury.

With Jared hurt and an unknown timetable for his return, yes, we are still thinking about adding an offensive tackle,” GM A.J. Smith said. “When we find the right guy, we will consider a move.
