Seahawks Waive Brandon Denmark & Ronald Johnson, Sign Andru Pulu & Wade Smith

The Seattle Seahawks announced that they have placed LB Brandon Denmark and WR Ronald Johnson on waivers and re-signed DT Andru Pulu.

Alex Marvez reports that the Seahawks have also signed veteran OL Wade Smith to a contract on Monday as well.

Smith, 33, is a former third-round pick of the Miami Dolphins. He spent two years with the Dolphins before he was waived and later signed on with the Jets.

Smith was most recently with the Texans where he appeared in every game during his four years in Houston.

Pulu signed with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Eastern Washington back in May. He was waived just a month later.

Johnson, 25, is a former sixth-round pick of the 49ers, who failed to make the team out of training camp. He later signed on to the Eagles’ practice squad, but was placed on waivers in April of last year.

At USC, he caught 138 passes for 1,750 yards receiving and scored 20 touchdowns over the course of four seasons.

Denmark wound up transferring to Florida A&M after starting his college career at the University of Illinois. During his senior season with FA&M, Denmark recorded 59 tackles, four sacks and 12 tackles for loss.
