- Berman adds that Houston also placed OT David Quessenberry non-football illness list.
The Houston Texans have begun the process of trimming their roster down to 75 players on Monday, according to John McClain, by cutting nine players including:
- WR Travis Labhart
- OT Bryan Witzmann
- G Cody White
- WR Alan Bonner
- OT Aaron Adams
- LB Jason Ankrah
- DL Chris Neild
- WR Jace Davis
- DE Cameron McLeod
Houston also placed LB Reshard Cliett on season-ending injured reserve.
Neild, 27, is a former seventh round pick of the Redskins back in 2011. He spent a few years with the team before he became an unrestricted free agent back in March.
Houston signed him to a contract a few months ago to bolster their interior defensive line depth for training camp.
In 2013, Neild appeared in eight games for the Redskins and recorded six tackles.
