Texans WR Demaryius Thomas Out For Season With Ruptured Achilles

Update:

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle reports that Texans WR Demaryius Thomas suffered a ruptured Achilles during Sunday’s game against the Eagles.

This will, obviously, end Thomas’ 2018 season and lead to him being placed on injured reserve.

Texans WR Demaryius Thomas was carted off the field after suffering an injury during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game.

The Texans have already ruled Thomas out with an Achilles injury.

Thomas was clearly in a great deal of pain and punching the ground in frustration before being taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Entering today’s game, Thomas had appeared in 13 games for the Broncos and Texans and caught 50 passes for 581 yards receiving and five touchdowns.

Thomas, 30, is a former first-round pick of the Broncos back in 2010. Hein in the fourth year of his five-year, $70 million contract that included $43.5 million guaranteed and stands to make base salaries of $8.5 million and $14 million over the final two years of the agreement.

The Broncos picked up Thomas’ $4 million option this past March before trading him to the Texans for fourth- and seventh-round picks before the deadline.
