Vikings Re-Sign TE Rhett Ellison To A One-Year, $2.25M Deal

The Minnesota Vikings announced that they’ve re-signed TE Rhett Ellison on Tuesday.

  • Rand Getlin reports that Ellison receives a one-year deal from the Vikings worth $2.25 million.
  • The Vikings also formally announced the signing of CB Marcus Sherels.

Reports were that Ellison was in talks with the Vikings about a new contract, so this doesn’t come as a complete surprise.

Ellison, 27, played out his four-year, $2.4 million rookie contract that included a $300,584 signing bonus. His year, unfortunately, came to an end after he suffered a torn patellar tendon during their Week 15 win over the Packers.

In 2015, Ellison appeared in 15 games and caught 11 passes for 124 yards receiving and a touchdown for the Vikings.
