Vikings Rule Out RB Dalvin Cook & DE Everson Griffen For Week 3

On Friday, Vikings HC Mike Zimmer announced that RB Dalvin Cook (hamstring) and DE Everson Griffen (knee) are both out for Sunday’s game.

Minnesota will also be without David Morgan (knee) and Marcus Sherels (ribs) in Week 3.

The good news for Cook is that he told Chris Tomasson that he “definitely” will be ready for their Week 4 game against the Rams game next Thursday.

This, of course, means that Latavius Murray will be in for a large workload this weekend in place of Cook.

Cook, 23, is a former second-round pick of the Vikings back in 2017. He’s currently in the second year of his four-year, $6.35 million contract and set to make base salaries of $753,787 and $1.04 million over the next two years of the agreement.

In 2018, Cook has appeared in two games for the Vikings and rushed for 78 yards on 26 carries (3 YPC) to go along with nine receptions for 107 yards receiving and no touchdowns.
