Washington officially claimed DB Ryan Lewis off of waivers from the Dolphins on Thursday.
Lewis, 26, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Pittsburgh back in May of 2018. He was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed him to the Cardinals practice squad.
Lewis later caught on with the Patriots but was among their final roster cuts on at the start of the 2018 regular season. He had brief stints with the Colts and Bills before signing on to the Eagles’ practice squad and being promoted to the active roster soon after.
Philadelphia waived Lewis last October and he was later claimed by the Dolphins.
In 2019, Lewis appeared in 13 games for the Eagles, Dolphins and Colts and recorded 25 tackles, one interception and five passes defended.
