NFL Rumors: Bears, Cowboys, Dolphins, Patriots, & Raiders

Bears

• Rand Getlin reports that there’s an “active market” for Bears free agent LB Shea McClellin. According to Getlin, teams love his versatility.
• Charles Robinson thinks free agent TE Rob Housler ultimately ends up back with the Bears.

Cowboys

• Mike Fisher reports that the Cowboys spoke with the Eagles as late as today about trading for RB DeMarco Murray before Philadelphia reached an agreement with the Titans.
• ESPN’s Ed Werder confirms that the Cowboys did discuss trading for Murray, but couldn’t handle sending the Eagles compensation or the money still owed to him.

Dolphins

• Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports that the Dolpins are among the teams in the mix for CB Adam Jones.
• Jackson adds that the Dolphins have also made preliminary inquiries on other cornerbacks, including Chargers CB Patrick Robinson.
• Even if the Dolphins sign Jones and finalize their trade for Byron Maxwell, Jackson believes Florida CB Vernon Hargreaves could in the mix for Miami at No. 8 overall.

Patriots

• Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports that the Patriots have informed WR Brandon Gibson that he won’t be re-signed.

Raiders

• Vic Tafur lists the Raiders’ top-five free agents as: 1) DE Malik Jackson, 2) OL Kelechi Osemele, 3) CB Sean Smith, 4) S George Iloka, 5) ILB Jerrell Freeman.
• Adam Caplan reports that the Raiders are among a number of teams with varying degrees of interest in Jets free agent RB Chris Ivory.
